William Speir

William Speir, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 27.  He was a proud father and veteran of the United States Navy.  During his 29 year career he served during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of CWO4 when he retired in the early 1980's, earning over 15 medals, decorations and campaign ribbons.  He enjoyed military history, creating his own mixed music tapes, and, like most sailors, a good cup of coffee.  His final resting place will be Miramar National Cemetery with full military honors.  He is survived by his sister, Teresa, his two sons, Pat and Jeff, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
