Donna M. Ruffin

Mrs. Donna M. Ruffin was born May 27, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana; she was the seventh of thirteen children born to Albert Lyons, Sr. and Louise Smith-Lyons. Donna attended and graduated from Terrebonne Parrish High School.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to many. Donna displayed love, support and genuine concern for all those she encountered. Donna touched many lives with her encouragement, grace and generosity.

Donna had a very extensive background in many career fields which included: working for Houma, Louisiana’s Sheriff Department, Houma Water Plant, Walmart associate in addition to being an advocate for adult education for California’s Grossmont School District which aspired young adults to complete High School and go on to college. She also worked as a Pharmacist Technician for Mount Miguel Covenant in Spring Valley, California and as a California Notary. During her many career fields Donna always made time for her family which included her girls Leila and Joni. As a wife and wonderful mother Donna was aspired to go to college to further her education. In addition, being an active participant in her community. Donna was an active member of Killeen, Texas NAACP Executive Board’s making a difference on a local and national level.

On Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022, suddenly the Lord called Donna home as she made her transition from this earth to become a heavenly angel.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Albert Lyons, Sr; Mother Louise Smith-Lyons, her husband Larry Ruffin, her brothers Otis, Albert Jr, James and sisters: Gloria and Antoinette.

Donna enjoyed going to church, shopping, singing, cooking, dancing and especially spending time with her kids and family.

A beautiful soul will always leave a trail of beautiful memories to follow. Loved and Never forgotten.
